Biography - Project Director
Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman is the Project Director of Coastal Embankment Improvement Project, Phase-1. He is also an Additional Chief Engineer with Bangladesh Water Development Board, Ministry of Water Resources. He has 32 years’ experience in Planning, Design, Implementation, Project Management and Operation of Water Resources Projects like Flood Risk Management, Irrigation & Drainage Management, River Training etc.
Prior to his appointment as the Project Director CEIP-1, he had been the Team Leader for Management Support Consultancy to the Center of Excellence in Water Resources Research and Development under Water Research Dept, Govt. of Bihar, India. He was the Project Director of Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 Formulation Project, Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning.

He also works as an Adjunct Faculty with IDMVS, University of Dhaka. Dr. Rahman is a post doctorate fellow in Nipissing University, Ontario, Canada and achieved best article award of Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, ASCE Publishers (Awarded on "World Environment & Water Resources Congress 2014" at Portland, Oregon, USA). He also achieved many fellowship awards. His name was placed in the approved list of Visiting Post Doctorate Fellowship program in NSERC, Govt. of Canada. He is a reviewer of different peer reviewed international journals. He is an external examiner of several Ph.D and M.Sc. thesis in Bangladesh, Australia, and India; and member of doctoral committees with Dhaka University, WRE and IWFM, BUET and published numerous articles in international peer reviewed journals and international conferences. He is supervising M.Sc thesis in University of Dhaka and also performed as the member of the RAC of IWFM, BUET. He graduated from RUET on Civil Engineering in 1981 and completed his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
